Hey guys, take a look at my chunky twistout! This is my first attempt at doing one.  I think it came out really cute!  What do you think??

Apparently, I'm Not "All Black"

So I was at work yesterday and I overheard a conversation between this younger girl (about 17 or 18 yrs old) and her counselor. She tells her counselor, (referring to my hair), "Her hair is pretty, she has that good hair...but she's not all Black anyway!" I immediately responded with, "There's no such thing as good hair only healthy hair AND yes, I'm all Black." Then she said, with a smile on her face, "Oh, you heard me?"  Yes, I heard you!! I couldn't do anything but shake my head!! I so badly wanted to give her my natural hair 101 lecture, lol, but I was busy doing something else.

I know not everyone understands or even cares to understand what I have learned over the past year about different hair textures, hair care, protective styling, etc. But sometimes I feel that maybe everyone should receive a 1 hour crash course on natural hair, lol. Maybe then, some views would change and hair textures embraced!

**Disclaimer: I am not stating that every woman should wear her natural hair, nor am I against relaxers**

It would just be nice if everyone was well informed ;-)

My First Braid Out!!

I was going out with my hubby and sisters to my cousin's suprise birthday celebration and I decided to do a braid out. I hadn't done one since I went natural. I loved how it came out. What do you think?? I'll definitely revisit this style again soon ;-)  Paix' and <3

9 Months Post BC (Big Chop)!

December 10, 2010 marked my ninth month nappiversary since I chopped off all of my relaxed ends. I had shoulder length relaxed hair but I didn't mind...I was ready to start over and regrow a much healthier head of NATURAL hair!! So far, my progress has been tremendous!! At times it is a little difficult to see the progess in my growth but using pictures along my journey helps a great deal! So if you are a little down because it appears that you aren't seeing any growth, start snapping some pics and soon you will be amazed! Happy Healthy Hair Growth Curlies!!!
