How I Preserve My Textured/Curly Styles Overnight

So you've spent several hours washing, deep conditioning, detangling, and styling your hair and your hard work paid off because you ended up with a bomb twist out!! *Boom* You are hyped!!! All naturals quickly find out no two twistouts or braidouts (or any style for that matter) ever comes out looking the same.  And you have to be prepared to switch it up when your hair decides it wants to do it's own thing!

So that night, of your day 1 hairstyle, you tried the pineapple method. You wake up the next morning to shake out your hair so you can enjoy another fab hair day and your hair doesn't budge after the first shake. You try again. Nope, still not falling the way you want it to. Hol' up man!!!! This wasn't suppose to turn out like this! LOL.

It's funny to think about it now but this has happened to me a couple of times early on in my natural hair journey. I had to come up with a better way to maintain my textured styles so I decided to do a few smaller, loosely banded-off sections.  I've received several comments on my videos asking how I maintain my styles so I finally found some time to make the video for you guys ^_^ I hope you enjoy!

Take a look below!

If you try this method, snap a pic and @ me on Instagram (@naturallycreole) or Facebook. I would love to hear from you. So, how do YOU maintain your styles overnight??

Savvy Small Business Sunday | Meet Stacy Morris

Stacy is the founder of Beautify by Stacy. She selects some very unique pieces of jewelry.  Her site states she "strives to provide the best prices, excellent quality and service."  Stacy says she is known for her fine taste in jewelry.

From looking at the pieces on her site, I find them to be very unique. She hand picks pieces of different mixes of metals, bold prints, and colors. Each piece looks as if it's selected for a unique individual.

Check out her responses and make sure you support this SSB (Savvy Small Business) chica!

What is the name of your business?
Beautify by Stacy

What does the business do?
Sell affordable  statement and fashion jewelry.

Is the business solely online or do you have a location?
It's an online business

The website is: www.beautifybystacyboutique.com

You can also contact me at beautifybystacy2@gmail.com

When did you start your business?
I started my business in May 2013

Why did you choose to start your own business?
I have always had great taste in jewelry; every time I bought a piece for myself I would always find myself giving it away or selling what I had because someone just could not live without it :)  So I would find myself back to the store buying another set . I think  owning a small business is a must in this economy  and every household should have some form of plan B. I lost my job about 3 yrs ago and  unfortunately, I did not have a plan B. This time around I even have a plan c !!lol!!! [Me] stepping out of my box was a life changing decision.

What advice do you have for someone else trying to start his or her own small business?
Passion comes in different forms and once you believe in what you are doing, you will & must achieve what you set out to do.

Give from your business as small as it may be-- when you get more give more, it's a good feeling and it will be a blessing to your business.

Be thankful in plenty & in little. Find ways to love & service your customers--they are your life line.

Is there anything else you would like for our readers to know about you?
I am a baby nurse at night and a makeup artist; I have decided to take my craft to another level.  I am also a mother of a 3 yr old little girl that has changed my life.  I lost my job just after I had her. I say all of this to say, do not look at the bad in your situation, sometimes we get too comfortable and stop dreaming but life have a way of taking the bad & creating a blessing.  As long as you have breath every morning do not stop dreaming--no matter your situation!

Erykah Badu Concert Outfit

So, if you haven't been following me on Instagram or Youtube (shame on you! just joking-not really :) then you may not have seen my latest outfit post.  Last Saturday (Nov. 2nd) my husband and I went to see Erykah Badu perform live at Chrysler Hall in Va. I wanted to wear something chic yet comfy; I'm all about comfort these days!  So I headed out to Forever 21 with looking for a jumper or faux leather joggers in mind and I noticed the denim overalls.  I've looked at them before and have wanted to pick one up so when I saw it, naturally I grabbed it.  I tried it on and Oh My Goodness it was SOO soft and comfortable.  I wanted to make the look a little more chic so I spiced it up with some Zara heels and a velvet crop top, cute beaded clutch and chic fitted faux leather jacket and headed out.  Take a look here…

See below for my "Get ready with me" video I uploaded yesterday.

Outfit Details:

Denim overalls/dungarees: Forever21-$35
Faux leather jacket: Sammidress.com- $20
Heels: Zara- $50
Beaded clutch: Aldo (can't remember the price)
