Spring is one of my favorite seasons of the year! All the colors and prints are so inspiring. I threw together this collage to show a little of my style for this time of year!
Btw, that hair color is soooo tempting! I LOVE it! Hmmm… *wink*

Jonna of Naturally Glam and I hosted our second Curly Girl Takeover, sponsored by Alikay Naturals, out on the Peninsula in Hampton Friday, March 14th. We invited a group of women (and men) to come out to Bar Louie and learn about Alikay Naturals products. Attendees got a chance to smell and test hair products, dine, drink and talk about their hair care experiences. Take a look…
We had giveaways…
We had tester products and samples…
Check out these fab hairstyles…
Product discussion, games for giveaways and new friendships!!
As you can see we all had a blast! Thank you to Alikay Naturals for sponsoring our event. We also want to thank Aaron Davis of Rose and Womble Realty (who happens to be my cousin ;) for donating a few giveaways. One of which included a gift certificate for a 60 minute massage at a local spa. Wow!
Follow us on our social media handles and here on my blog for other upcoming events. We have more in store. What city will Curly Girls takeover next??
Would you like us to come to your city? Comment below.
Koils by Nature presents International Natural Hair Meetup Day. It's coming to the Hampton Roads area in a couple of months. Tickets have officially became available today, March 15th. This event will feature a blogger panel, which I will be a part of! And will be hosted by Desired Beauty Supplies and Naturally Glam LLC.
Ticket prices are very reasonable so it would be best to get them early. Once ticket sales close, at-the-door tickets will be a little higher. To get more info, check the website by clicking the flyer or check this link hamptonroadsinhmd2014.eventbrite.com.
I hope you guys attend. I would love to meet you!!!
So you've spent several hours washing, deep conditioning, detangling, and styling your hair and your hard work paid off because you ended up with a bomb twist out!! *Boom* You are hyped!!! All naturals quickly find out no two twistouts or braidouts (or any style for that matter) ever comes out looking the same. And you have to be prepared to switch it up when your hair decides it wants to do it's own thing!
So that night, of your day 1 hairstyle, you tried the pineapple method. You wake up the next morning to shake out your hair so you can enjoy another fab hair day and your hair doesn't budge after the first shake. You try again. Nope, still not falling the way you want it to. Hol' up man!!!! This wasn't suppose to turn out like this! LOL.
It's funny to think about it now but this has happened to me a couple of times early on in my natural hair journey. I had to come up with a better way to maintain my textured styles so I decided to do a few smaller, loosely banded-off sections. I've received several comments on my videos asking how I maintain my styles so I finally found some time to make the video for you guys ^_^ I hope you enjoy!
Take a look below!
If you try this method, snap a pic and @ me on Instagram (@naturallycreole) or Facebook. I would love to hear from you. So, how do YOU maintain your styles overnight??
